Jarnagin's Jargon

So I have decided to start a blog.

Why, you ask?

Well, I had contemplated starting one to blog about wedding planning for a while now. I have found so many other people's blogs about wedding stuff really helpful. Plus wedding pictures and ideas are just fun! I suppose some random bride-to-be may stumble across this as she is frantically searching for cheap table number holders and see how I handled it and be grateful. OR she might say how ugly was that girls center pieces .... blahhhh.

Whatever, I'm doing this.

Now for the most important part about this blog. It's name. Jarnagin's Jargon. First, I just want to credit that title to Jeff Coyne. When I was in college and working at the Collegiate Times as a designer, Jeff kept telling me that I should try to get a weekly column for me to just tell bad jokes and talk on about nothing (you know the normal conversation that you would have with me) and call it "Jarnagin's Jargon". Although this was a fantastic idea it never came to fruition because quite simply I can't write or spell or ain't do none of that darn grammar stuff neither. But then I realized the actual definition of Jargon (did I mention that my vocabulary is pretty weak as well) and thought with a title like that I can write terribly about nothing and that would be what my readers (what readers?) would want. Right?!

Dictionary.com's definition

Jargon - [jahr-guhn,-gon]–noun
1. the language, esp. the vocabulary, peculiar to a particular trade, profession, or group: medical jargon.
2. unintelligible or meaningless talk or writing; gibberish.
3. any talk or writing that one does not understand.
5. language that is characterized by uncommon or pretentious vocabulary and convoluted syntax and is often vague in meaning.

I think definitions 2 and 3 pretty much sum up what this will be.
So Jeff, your dream is now coming true. I hope you enjoy. I know you will (especially) love all the wedding planning stuff. I will try to add other random thoughts that will entertain everyone that does not give a crap about a bride's dilemma's.
